The New England Patriots will host members of their Super Bowl-winning team from the 2001 season at Sunday’s Week 5 home game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It will be a moment to remember the championship that kick-started one of the NFL’s most defining dynasties of all time.
Tom Brady, however, will not be in attendance.
The team released the list of players who will be at the upcoming game in Foxborough
on Thursday, with Brady’s name being left off.The players in attendance comes at an appropriate time, as New England’s postseason run in the 2001 season included its famous AFC divisional-round victory over the then-Oakland Raiders in a snowy game remembered for the “Tuck Rule” call. Adam Vinatieri forced overtime with a field goal and delivered
the game-winning field goal, both of which have long since been remembered. The Patriots went on to win their first Super Bowl championship in franchise history that season.
Members of the 2001 team will be front and center before the game, while Vinatieri will receive his Pro Football Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence at halftime.

Brady will miss the celebration because of his FOX broadcasting assignment in Seattle, where he is scheduled to call the Seahawks’ game against the San Francisco 49ers. The absence adds a note to the ceremony, with the face of the Patriots’ dynasty working elsewhere while the rest of the team convenes on Sunday.
