The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly starting former New England Patriots 2024 sixth-round draft pick Joe Milton III at quarterback for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the news on Wednesday.
Milton was signed by the Eagles off the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad back in mid-October, following Jalen Hurts' medical issues. In less than a month of being on the team, the Eagles are already moving to make Milton the starter in place of backup Tanner McKee.
It's a major shot at redemption for Milton, who lost the top backup job in Dallas to Sam Howell.

Milton is known for his athleticism, mobility and unbelievably strong throwing arm. He has appeared in five NFL games and thrown for 424 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions.
If the Eagles can get healthy, Milton will have multiple weapons to work with on offense, including DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon and Saquon Barkley. Business will pick up immediately with the Eagles slated to host the 4-2 Giants on Sunday.
