The New England Patriots signed outside linebacker Jose Ramirez to the practice squad, and they also signed safety Mike Brown from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss on Thursday.
Brown primarily serves as a key player on special teams and as a defensive back. He has spent time with the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans. That includes working under Vrabel, who was still the head coach with the Titans in 2023.
Brown initially signed with the Patriots in March.
Meanwhile, Ramirez initially signed to the Patriots' practice squad back September and was promoted to the 53-man active roster on September 23. He recorded a tackle in the Week 3 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was waived from the active roster on Tuesday.
Now, he'll have another opportunity in New England as a member of the practice squad.

The Patriots have dealt with multiple injuries along the defensive front and in the secondary. Brown is a veteran reserve option who will add depth to the backfield for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders, while Ramirez can continue working and developing as a member of the practice squad.
