Florida basketball earned its first commitment in the 2027 cycle when four-star forward Ian Condon pledged to join the Gators on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-7-inch, 220-pound senior out of Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., committed live on CBS Sports' YouTube page and noted that the Orange and Blue has a lot to offer him at the next level.
“I decided to commit to Florida because they are a high-level program with a winning culture,” Condon told Rivals. “They are one of the top public universities in the country. They share a lot of similarities with Sidwell and a place where I can compete with the best for a national championship.”
Condon made an official visit with Todd Golden and the Gators on Sept. 5 — his penultimate OV ahead of national
signing day in November — marking his first time on UF's campus.
"Florida's just a super high-level program with an amazing winning culture, and they encourage player continuity," Condon said after committing. "I had a great time on the visit; I got to meet the entire staff, bond with the players, got a really great feel for the environment both on and off the court. I'm excited to get down to The Swamp next year."
The blue-chip prospect chose Florida from a field of 16 offers, which included Notre Dame, North Carolina State and Georgia Tech, among other top programs.
According to MaxPreps, Condon averaged 20.4 points and 8.1 rebounds during his junior season.

Condon is ranked No. 101 overall and No. 20 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite, while the Rivals industry ranking has him at Nos. 91 and 12, respectively.

"He plays with excellent balance, using clean footwork and a consistent shot load and release. He plays a very efficient game, as his numbers would show, with very little wasted movement. Condon is physical and understands angles and team defense. His 18.3 points led the way for a 10-5 team that made Peach Jam.”
