Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy is uncertain for Saturday's game at Florida after suffering a left shoulder injury in the Rebels' 32-24 victory over LSU. He was hobbled during the third quarter against the Tigers.
Lacy underwent an MRI on Sunday. The injury reportedly is not expected to be long-term, but Ole Miss will monitor him throughout the week before making a decision regarding his availability.
Mississippi head coach Pete Golding said postgame X-rays were negative, going on to say that Lacy was prepared to try to play through the injury before the Rebels opted to pivot and feature JT Lindsey. Before this setback, the junior totaled 43 yards on nine carries and scored a 5-yard touchdown late in the first quarter.
Lacy has rushed for 191
yards and four touchdowns on 39 attempts through three games this season. His replacement, Lindsey, had four carries for 20 yards in relief. Lacy joined Florida RB Jadan Baugh as 2025 Doak Walker Award finalists and set an Ole Miss single-season record with 306 carries for 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns during his sophomore campaign.
Ole Miss is No. 6 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll and No. 4 in the AP Top 25, while Florida trails the Rebels at Nos. 22 and 21, respectively, heading into Saturday's matchup.
