Another week, another loss for Florida football after its 38-19 defeat at the hands of South Carolina, spoiling homecoming for the Orange and Blue faithful. It was the Gamecocks' first win in the Swamp since 2014 and snapped their eight-game SEC losing streak dating back to last season.
Just like against Missouri, nothing went right for the Gators on either side of the ball. Jadan Baugh did manage to rack up 59 yards but was mostly neutralized throughout the game while the offense turned the ball over three times; the defense had no answer for LaNorris Sellers and his fellow playmakers.
Following the conclusion of Florida's Week 6 collapse, the Gator Nation took to social media to share its collective lamentations over the Gators' first homecoming
loss since 2018. Take a look below at some of the top posts lamenting the road loss.

Imma be honest, after 4 games for @GatorsFB oh we makin’ the playoffs, welp 5-7 here we come. My thinking is we need depth equal to some of the talent we have now. This will take a couple recruiting classes and I’ll be here for it. Go Gators!

What happened to Florida? They got beat by Mizzou last week and now they got beat by South Carolina and Beamer Ball? Ouch. Same old Florida Gators. Not the same energy they have right now.

Blown out by Mizz and now South Carolina. What the heck is going on ?!? #Gators #GatorNation

I’m sorry but after that Jon Sumrall should be almost on the hot seat after the last 2 weeks at Florida. Words can’t describe how pitiful the gators are right now
— Ziggy 🐊 (@DrJeffZeigler) October 10, 2026
Hey @CoachJonSumrall maybe we need to just play in orange helmets and generic jerseys... They kids aren't Gators. Absolutely disgraceful.

Sumrall warned us #Gators had not arrived two weeks ago. Now, says they have been exposed. Some of his concerns have been there from start but didn't come to fruition until past two weeks.

South Carolina turned the Gators into a belt. Then put belt to Florida's ass...

In today’s NIL era one wonders if the Gators are victims of the dilutive effect of an athletic department trying to build and maintain both an elite football and basketball programs… with a finite amount of financial resources 🤔#GoGators pic.twitter.com/wveBd4fQol
