Florida is the big winner after a wild Week 4 in college football. The Gators moved into the No. 8 spot in the Week 4 AP Top 25 Poll after a dominant 52-28 win over then-No. 4 Ole Miss.
The Rebels dropped five spots to No. 9, just below the No. 8 Gators. Florida jumped 13 spots to return to the top 10 for the first time since 2021 and its highest AP ranking since 2020, when the Gators climbed as high as No. 3. The program’s last top-10 finish came in 2019, when Florida ended the season No. 6 after an 11-2 campaign and an Orange Bowl victory.
Florida’s 13-spot jump is the largest among teams that were ranked last week, with UCLA’s plus-14 reflecting its move into the poll from outside the Top 25.

elite. Georgia and Texas lie ahead, providing a great test to prove that Florida belongs in that group. Florida is now the fourth-highest-ranked SEC team, trailing only No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Georgia and No. 7 Alabama. UF received 1,272 points in the poll, just 33 behind the Crimson Tide.
Also landing among the top 25 are conference peers LSU (No. 11), Mississippi State (No. 16), Tennessee (No. 17), Kentucky (No. 24) and Missouri (No. 25). No other SEC school earned votes.
