Florida's men's and women's tennis programs enter the 2026-27 season with plenty of nationally recognized talent.
Fourteen players — eight women and six men — earned recognition in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's preseason rankings released Tuesday.
The women's program leads the way with six players ranked among the top 100 nationally in singles and three doubles tandems in the top 65. USC transfer Jana Hossam owns Florida's highest singles ranking at No. 11, while Valery Gynina and Brooke Black form the Gators' highest-ranked doubles pairing at No. 6.
Florida's men placed three players in the singles rankings and two tandems in doubles. Senior Henry Jefferson leads the group at No. 39 nationally and also appears in the doubles rankings alongside
Ty Host.
Florida women's tennis
Singles
Jana Hossam came to Florida in the offseason after two years with Southern California. She played primarily in the No. 1 singles slot last season, reaching as high as No. 16 nationally before finishing at No. 25. The ITA All-American and 2025 NCAA Individual Singles Championship semifinalist opens her first season at Florida ranked No. 11.
Senior Valery Gynina ranks No. 17 after finishing 2025-26 at No. 30. She figures to return to the No. 2 singles spot after posting a 19-9 overall record last season. Before Florida, Gynina earned first-team All-Conference USA honors in singles and doubles at FIU.
Gabia Paskauskas begins her junior season at No. 30 after finishing last year at No. 57. The NC State transfer tied for second on the team with 19 singles wins during her first season at Florida and climbed as high as No. 11 nationally.
Lucie Pawlak enters her sophomore season at No. 68 after leading Florida with 22 singles wins, 14 dual-match victories and nine SEC wins as a freshman. Her biggest victory came against Auburn's DJ Bennett, who was ranked No. 1 nationally at the time.
Brooke Black joined Florida for the spring semester and earned seven SEC wins, the second-most on the team. The former SEC Freshman of the Week enters her sophomore season at No. 82 after reaching No. 123 during her debut campaign.
Freshman Allegra Korpanec Davies rounds out Florida's ranked singles players at No. 98 and is also the No. 10 newcomer nationally. She arrives with seven ITF junior titles and reached as high as No. 49 in the ITF world junior rankings.
Doubles
Gynina and Black lead Florida's three ranked doubles tandems at No. 6 after finishing last season at No. 44. They won six of their final seven matches, including two against top-20 opponents.
Nikola Daubnerova and Pawlak open at No. 26 as a new pairing. Daubnerova finished last season ranked No. 20 alongside Xinyi Nong, while Pawlak led Florida with 13 doubles victories in dual matches.
Freshmen Capucine Jauffret and Korpanec Davies round out Florida's ranked doubles teams at No. 65 and will make their collegiate debuts this fall.
Florida men's tennis
Singles
Senior Henry Jefferson leads Florida's men at No. 39, following a No. 73 finish to the 2025-26 season. Jefferson reached a career-high ranking of No. 29 last year during the spring. He finished the season with a 22-17 overall singles record, highlighted by a three-set win over then-No. 6 Petar Jovanovic of Mississippi State. The ITA named him its Southeast Regional Player to Watch.
Jeremy Jin checks in at No. 114 after finishing his junior season with a 12-9 singles record. The two-time second-team All-SEC selection won the ITA Conference Masters Championship in the fall to earn an NCAA Singles Championship bid and finished the fall ranked No. 31 nationally.
Freshman Alaa Trifi opens his Florida career at No. 118 in singles and No. 17 in the newcomer rankings. The Tunisia native is ranked No. 831 by the ATP and arrives in Gainesville after competing extensively on the professional circuit, including several tournaments in Monastir.
Doubles
Jefferson and Ty Host lead Florida's men's doubles teams at No. 41. Jefferson went 22-15 in doubles last season, primarily alongside Tanapatt Nirundorn. The pair reached the NCAA Doubles Championship semifinals, earned All-America honors and climbed as high as No. 6 nationally.
Kevin Edengren and Andreas Timini open the season at No. 64 after going 13-6 together in dual matches last year. The duo primarily played at the No. 3 spot and picked up two wins over top-50 opponents during the 2025-26 campaign.
