Just two days remain until Florida football opens the 2026 SEC schedule with its first matchup against the Auburn Tigers in seven years. Ahead of the showdown at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday night, BetMGM's betting odds have seen a slight change in the moneyline numbers.
The Gators are off to a hot start on offense under new coach Jon Sumrall, scoring 118 points in their first two games, matching the program's most since Urban Meyer's team did it in the first two games of 2009. The Tigers also have a new skipper: Alex Golesh, who was at the helm of USF last season when the Bulls beat Florida for the first time — in the Swamp, no less.
Auburn leads the all-time series between the schools 43-39-2 dating to 1912 and has won three of the last four
meetings. However, the last time they met in 2019, Florida won 24-13 in the Swamp, adding to the Gators' 11-2 record that year.

If Florida is going to make noise this season, it begins with this game. It will be one of the few SEC matchups the Gators are favored to win and on the road, to boot. However, the margin of error will be razor-thin against their historic conference rivals.
If the offense and special teams keep clicking, it should bode well for the Orange and Blue, but the defense stepping up and continuing to improve will be the key to success. I think Florida's offense will prove too much for Auburn, while the defense will rise to the occasion despite still showing some weaknesses.
