Jon Sumrall and the Florida Gators have built one of the top 2027 recruiting classes in the country, and their 2028 class is off to an even better start. Four-star interior offensive lineman Samuel Bailey committed to the Gators on Monday, telling Hayes Fawcett of Rivals the news.
Bailey is the No. 36 overall player and No. 4 interior offensive lineman in the Rivals industry ranking. The Huntsville product is also the No. 2 player from Alabama.
Florida has been recruiting Bailey since March 26, when they extended him a scholarship offer during his first visit to campus. He returned to Gainesville in June and again on Saturday, getting an up-close look at them as they crushed the Ole Miss Rebels.
The Gators had plenty of competetion for the 6-foot-5.5,
300-pounder, who had scholarship offers from programs across the country. He also visited the Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, FSU Seminoles, and more during his recruitment.
He is Florida's third commitment in the 2028 cycle, joining four-star wide receiver Armani Strong and four-star safety Cyion Smith, who committed on Saturday before the Ole Miss game. The group is ranked as the 4th-best in the country by Rivals, with Bailey being their highest-ranked commit
