Florida's biggest game in years is also a massive recruiting opportunity for Jon Sumrall and the Gators. A loaded group of prospects is expected in Gainesville for No. 22 Florida's battle with No. 6 Ole Miss.
According to Gators Online's Blake Alderman, the group includes five-star Texas commit wide receiver Easton Royal and several other key recruits for the 2028 cycle.
Despite committing to Texas last fall, Royal remains an intriguing target for Sumrall and Co. The Louisiana native continues evaluating Florida and LSU, per Alderman, who also reports Florida's undefeated start and offensive production have caught the blue-chipper's attention.
Four-star 2028 prospect Antonio Thomas, Jayden Bell, Levi Kerr, Andre Alexander, Tyzon Swann and Syracuse
offensive tackle commit Omari Lawson are also among those slated to visit the Swamp on Saturday.
The Gators are trending upwards after their first 3-0 start since 2019 — timing could not be better for Sumrall's program to host a group of game-changing prospects. Florida has a massive opportunity in front of them that could boost the Orange and Blue back into the College Football Playoff conversation.
The upward trajectory of Florida's offense under Buster Faulkner has been evident since the season began, averaging 54 points per game under the new OC. Their 544.3 yards per game ranks No. 3 in the country behind only Mississippi State and Miami.
