Florida basketball entered the 2026-27 season with national championship aspirations, and its biggest star is already drawing attention as a potential first-round NBA Draft selection.
The Athletic named Gators fourth-year forward Thomas Haugh among 10 college basketball players to watch for the 2027 NBA Draft.
Haugh, a third-team All-American last season, chose to return to Gainesville despite generating first-round draft buzz after his junior campaign.
The 6-foot-9-inch wing was considered a potential first-round selection in the 2026 NBA Draft, with some projections placing him in the lottery.
While the 2027 draft class is considered less talented than in prior years, the return of experienced players like Haugh could add depth to a group expected
to feature several highly regarded first-year players.
Haugh's appeal comes largely from his versatility. After transitioning from power forward to small forward last season, he showed he could contribute as a high-level three-and-D wing, combining size and skill with the defensive mobility to guard multiple positions.
The Florida standout opened his senior campaign with an impressive all-around performance against Miami on Monday, recording 19 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
A performance that offered an early glimpse of the production Haugh could provide throughout the season as he looks to improve his draft stock while leading the Gators to another national championship.
