Florida fell to the Sooners, 23-7, inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, marking its second consecutive loss and fourth defeat in its last five games. While the offense struggled to establish any consistency, the defense showed flashes of promise throughout the contest, providing some resistance against Oklahoma's offensive attack.
Despite the loss, linebacker Myles Graham delivered one of his most productive performances of the season, emerging as a bright spot for Florida's defense.
Graham finished with a game-high 15 total tackles, including 10 solo stops, 1.5 tackles for loss, and one quarterback hurry. His efforts earned him our Gators Wire defensive player of the game honor for Week 10.
The third-year linebacker was seemingly everywhere on the
field, consistently finding himself around the football and making plays when Florida needed defensive stops.
His ability to dissect plays and close gaps in the running game helped limit Oklahoma's opportunities to generate additional yardage, while his presence in the backfield created challenges for the Sooners' offense.
Graham's performance was particularly impressive given how much time Florida's defense spent on the field. With the Gators struggling to sustain drives offensively, the defense was repeatedly tasked with slowing down Oklahoma's attack.
Even with those challenges, Graham remained one of Florida's most consistent defenders throughout the night.
According to Pro Football Focus, Graham earned an 86.2 tackling grade, the highest mark among Florida defenders against Oklahoma. The recognition was fitting, considering Graham led both teams in tackles, further highlighting his ability to consistently finish plays.
Graham has established himself as one of the Gators' most reliable defensive contributors this season, delivering several standout performances despite the team's recent struggles. His production against Oklahoma adds to an impressive stretch of individual performances, as he continues to demonstrate his value as a key piece of Florida's defensive unit.
Although their defense wasn't enough to overcome another difficult offensive showing, Graham's performance reminded everyone of the talent and playmaking ability the Gators possess.
