Two days remain until Florida football faces the South Carolina Gamecocks for this year's homecoming game inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Ahead of the SEC showdown in the Swamp, BetMGM's betting odds continue to see the Gators' edge whittling away, though the home team still has a double-digit spread over the visitors.
The Gators, who enter the weekend 4-1 overall and 2-1 in SEC play, are coming off a devastating 45-17 upset defeat at the hands of the Missouri Tigers. The Gamecocks are just 2-3 and have failed to prevail in any of their three conference matchups so far.
Florida leads the all-time series against South Carolina with a 31-10-3 record dating back to 1911, including wins in the last two meetings and five of the last six. The Gators
last faced the Gamecocks on homecoming back in 2020, defeating the visitors, 38-24.
UF holds a 74-26-2 all-time record in homecoming games dating back to 1916, including a 32-5 mark since 1989.

Florida vs. South Carolina predictions, picks for Week 6
Gators Wire's expert predictions, picks for Florida vs South Carolina
South Carolina represents the weakest SEC program that Florida will face this season, so it is fortuitous that the matchup comes after a deflating loss to Missouri — one that will have the coaching staff re-evaluating many aspects of their game plan. But even the conference basement-dwellers must be treated with respect.
With a chip on their shoulder and a raucous homecoming crowd behind them, the Gators should be charged up in the Swamp as they look to bounce back in Week 6. I expect Jadan Baugh to get back to the 100-yard rushing mark and the defense to show some positive adjustments; maybe Aaron Philo will also throw a few on-target passes downfield.
Overall, it should be a much better game for the Gator Nation as their beloved gridiron gang returns to the win column.
PREDICTION: Florida 45, South Carolina 20
