Florida is coming off a bitter beating by South Carolina, 38-19, on homecoming weekend in a game, making it two straight losses after starting the Jon Sumrall era with four straight wins. Texas had been the top-ranked team in the country entering Week 6, but a field goal by Oklahoma as the clock ran out in the Red River Rivalry game gave the Longhorns their first loss of the season, 27-24.
The Gators have faced the Longhorns just five times on the collegiate gridiron since 1924, with one win, three losses
and a tie. Florida's lone victory came last year in the Swamp, beating then-ninth-ranked Texas, 29-21, in one of the biggest triumphs of the Billy Napier era.

Florida vs. Texas predictions, picks for college basketball
After what we have seen from this Florida team over the last two weeks, it is hard to envision a positive outcome against one of the best teams in the country — even if this Texas team has some clear flaws. The Gators' defense in particular appears ripe for the picking against a potentially potent offense, while their own offense has been exposed in recent games.
Florida has never won in Austin and there is no reason to expect that to change in Week 7. I do hope to see some improvement on both sides of the ball, but that feels like wishful thinking at this point.
