Florida football looks to rebound from its loss to Georgia when it hosts Oklahoma on Saturday night at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
The Gators (5-3, 3-3 SEC) can clinch bowl eligibility in Jon Sumrall’s first season with a victory. Florida has lost three of its last four games, most recently falling 27-8 to the Bulldogs after committing four turnovers.
Tramell Jones Jr. is set to make his second career start and his first at the Swamp. Protecting the football and sustaining drives will be priorities against an Oklahoma defense that ranks among the nation’s best on third down.
The Sooners (4-4, 2-3 SEC) are also seeking a rebound after losing to South Carolina. Tight ends coach Jason
Witten takes over as interim offensive coordinator following Ben Arbuckle’s dismissal.
Saturday marks the programs’ first meeting on either school’s campus. Florida will honor former coach Urban Meyer with his Ring of Honor induction at the end of the first quarter.
