The Florida Gators and the Ole Miss Rebels entered Week 4's matchup both coming off of emotional victories, and one team looked vastly more prepared than the other once the clock struck zero. The Orange and Blue dismantled the visitors in the Swamp, 52-28, while also once again leaving a few points on the field.
The score is deceiving because Ole Miss is still a great team, but Florida's ground game was the difference-maker in this matchup. The Gators' offense has been historically great up to this point in the season, eclipsing 200 points in their first four games combined.
The pairing of Jadan Baugh and Duke Clark was electric and their efforts on Saturday earned them Gators Wire's co-offensive players of the game for Week 4.
For Baugh, this
was another day in the office. He recorded 142 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns while still consistently breaking tackles and making the initial defenders miss.
The All-SEC running back is firmly in the mix to win the Heisman and is on pace to record 1,800 rushing yards this season, which would be significant because Florida has not had a running back rush for over 1,500 yards since Emmitt Smith did it in 1989.
Clark also finished with 126 rushing yards and an end-zone appearance. The second-string running back also broke a long run for 45 yards in the second half to help the Gators gain distance from the Rebels.
The Gator duo etched their names in program history as the first pairing to rush for 100 yards in a game since 2022.
Baugh has now earned three Gators Wire offensive player of the game recognitions, while Clark earns his first.
