Florida football has listed Aaron Philo and Tramell Jones Jr. as co-starters ahead of the team's Week 10 matchup with Oklahoma.
The competition appears to have been reopened by head coach Jon Sumrall following the Gators' 27-8 loss to Georgia on Saturday. The change marks a first for Florida this season, as the team has not used an official "or" designation at the position.
"There will be one guy that starts and one guy that doesn't out of the two guys you're probably worried about. I'm not gonna make a big quarterback-one announcement. I have a plan that is already kind of in motion and in place. But I don't know that it helps us with me naming a starter today," Sumrall said.

Both quarterbacks practiced Monday, but Sumrall does not intend to publicly announce a starter before Saturday. Philo struggled against the Bulldogs' defense, completing just 5-of-7 passes for 26 yards; both of his incompletions resulted in interceptions. Jones replaced the stumbling Philo and finished 17-of-24 for 172 yards and Florida's lone rushing touchdown.
Philo has started seven of UF's eight games this season, while Jones has appeared in seven games with one start. The decision introduces uncertainty at a key position with the Gators attempting to rebound from a disappointing stretch; UF has dropped three of their last four conference games.
With the Gators sitting at 5-3, Sumrall faces a critical decision as Florida aims to secure bowl eligibility.
