Is Texas quarterback Arch Manning on the hot seat in Austin?
One report from ESPN's Pete Thamel makes Texas benching Manning even more likely than ever. Thamel shared on Monday that redshirt freshman KJ Lacey Jr. will get "an uptick in first-team quarterback reps" this week in practice.
After coach Steve Sarkisian remained vague on Manning's future in the starting lineup, Lacey getting first-team reps is, as Thamel notes, "a signal that Texas could replace Manning if he continues to struggle."
Nobody expected Manning to be in jeopardy of losing his starting job like this early in the season, especially after that Ohio State win. However, college football moves fast. Could Manning take the fall for Texas' two-game skid?

We have no idea what this would mean for Manning's future, but we're awestruck that it's gotten to this point.
When is Texas' next game?
The team hosts Ole Miss on Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
