Monday night's matchup between the New York Giants and the Los Angeles Rams
was close to being a truly terrible few hours for Big Blue. Aside from the game itself, a 28-6 win for the Rams, the big storylines were the injuries, as quarterback Jaxson Dart and wide receiver Malik Nabers both had to leave the game. While Nabers was able to return, all eyes shifted to Dart, who went down holding his knee early in the first quarter and was later ruled out.However, the good news is that the Giants and Dart appear to have avoided a worst-case scenario. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo, Dart is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL, meaning he'll miss a few weeks rather than the rest of the season.
Even factoring in the injury,
Dart reportedly wanted to return for the Giants' game on Monday night, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. After the game, Dart's backfield mate, running back Cam Skattebo, confirmed this by revealing what the quarterback told him after the injury, as SNY Giants highlighted.
"He told me he wanted to get back out there, and the doctors kind of told him no," Skattebo said. "...We didn't really get into [it too] deep; we were still in the middle of the game, so I kind of was just like 'damn.' Then he told me what was happening. I'm going to leave that to him and the doctors and stuff. I think he'll be alright here in the next few weeks."
