It feels good anytime you can hit on a tight end touchdown bet. In Week 5, I made good on three: Hunter Henry, Isaiah Likely and Trey McBride. That's how you know it was a good week.
Those three were among the seven predictions I got right last Sunday, out of 13 games. Anytime you can bat over .500 on bets giving mostly plus-odds, you're on your way to turning a profit.
In Week 6, I'm laying off the tight ends a bit, but we're still chasing value where it's potentially worth it. These are my favorite anytime touchdown scorer picks for Sunday's slate of games.
Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars (London)
Parker Washington (+175)
With Houston's top slot coverage defender, Jalen Pitre, doubtful to play, Washington will have a great chance to score his third touchdown in two games in London and
his fifth overall on the season.
Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons
Drake London (-105)
The return of Caleb Williams will help Chicago's offense, but it won't help a secondary that just got torched by Christian Watson for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Now, it's London's turn to get loose on the Bears.
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns
Zay Flowers (+175)
Only two teams have allowed more touchdowns to wide receivers than the Browns. And their coverage is weakest in the slot where Flowers has thrived.
Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts
Wan'Dale Robinson (+400)
Besides running back Tyjae Spears, who had nine catches as the Titans played from behind last week, Robinson led the team in targets and receptions. Against Indy, he has a much better matchup to turn that type of production into a third touchdown in his last four games.
New York Jets at New England Patriots
Demario Douglas (+270)
At these odds, I think you have to ride the momentum of Douglas and Drake Maye's two-touchdown connection last week against the Raiders.
New Orleans Saints at New York Giants
Malik Nabers (+170)
Whoever a team's top target is entering a game against the Saints, that person has usually had a big game this season. For the Giants, that could mean Nabers, Isaiah Likely (+190), or both -- like last week when the two combined for 22 catches and three touchdowns.
Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles
Jalen Coker
Going with a Panther was a no-brainer once Jalen Hurts was ruled out for this game. Picking which Panther to roll with wasn't as easy, though I went Coker because after two weeks away, he'll be itching to make an impact in his return.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Pat Freiermuth (+310)
Freiermuth and Aaron Rodgers connected a season-high seven times for two touchdowns in last week's game. The tight end has another strong matchup against a Tampa team that will stuff the run and force Pittsburgh into passing situations.
Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams
Puka Nacua (-165)
I feel just as good about Nacua's chance to score as I am Kyren Williams (-210), so it only makes sense to go with his shorter odds. Especially coming off a game where he saw 24 targets and caught 17 with one touchdown.
Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs
Kenneth Walker (-180)
The Chiefs are coming off a bye, which means Walker is rested and ready to resume where he left off as the workhorse back of this team. But for long-shot fun, I think Chargers tight end Charlie Kolar (+550) could be worth a sprinkle.
Buffalo Bills at Las Vegas Raiders
Cody White (+700)
After scoring three times on three catches over Vegas' first three games, White has been held out the end zone but his production has increased with four catches for 80 yards over his last two games, including catches of at least 27 yards in each. That big-play ability will lead to scoring opportunities against Buffalo.
Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers (Sunday Night Football)
Christian Watson (+120)
Watson takes his 18.2-yard reception average and six touchdowns in five games into a matchup with the worst defense in football. Unless the addition of Mike Pettine makes a dramatic difference for Dallas, Watson will have his way this game.
