With Tony Romo on indefinite leave from CBS after his OWI arrest -- CBS president David Berson said Romo's leave is "an evolving situation"the network is still assessing -- it'll be former defensive end J.J. Watt joining Jim Nantz and Co. in the top spot on Sundays this fall for now.
And Watt took a moment on Tuesday to talk about the opportunity, and he was honest about why he hadn't spoken about it before then.
"Haven’t said much because it’s not the circumstances you’d hope it would happen under," he wrote. "but I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity and look forward to working with a legendary team in Jim Nantz, Tracy Wolfson, Jim Rikhoff and the entire CBS lead crew."

Who is replacing J.J. Watt with the CBS NFL Sunday crew?
Watt was going to be paired with Ian Eagle, but now Ross Tucker will replace Watt for the first couple of weeks of the 2026 NFL season.
