The Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night, and if it was almost any other team getting to go against that Dallas defense, I'd be spamming their players for my touchdown predictions.
However, under the circumstances the Bucs find themselves in, with rookie Jalon Daniels making his second career start, in a short week, I can't recommend that. Even Bucky Irving (+190) could have a hard time getting it going.
Not to worry. The Cowboys have more than enough playmakers to fill the void. That includes Javonte Williams (-230) fresh off his three-touchdown game last week, though he doesn't crack my top-three against a tough Bucs run defense. Below are the players whose anytime touchdown scorer odds I like most tonight.
CeeDee Lamb (-110)
Lamb's sheer
volume of targets is making him almost a must-bet each week, as he's scored in three of four games this year, including in last week's 17-catch masterpiece. He should've been the favorite over Williams to score a touchdown in this game, if you ask me.
Jake Ferguson (+230)
As we saw with Tucker Kraft's six-catch performance against the Bucs, which represented a season-high for him and team-high for Green Bay, tight ends can feast on the Bucs. Kraft also caught his first touchdown of the season in that game last week, so it's not a reach to say Ferguson can score his fourth of the year.
Jalon Daniels (+280)
Daniels ran eight times for 55 yards last week, and that was in a game that stayed close. If Dallas' offense gets rolling like we can typically expect, Daniels will be forced to drop back even more, which will mean more opportunities for him to take off and run. He'll have room to potentially break one, as quarterbacks racked up at least 50 yards on Dallas in each of the first three weeks of the season.
