After the New York Yankees were swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS, FS1's David Ortiz celebrated his longtime MLB rival getting eliminated.
Ortiz, who was a longtime Red Sox star, has made a habit of tormenting his FS1 co-hosts Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez while on TV. It's especially notable when Jeter and Rodriguez watch their former team, the Yankees, perform poorly in the postseason.
Wednesday evening was no exception as the MLB slugger pulled out a bottle of tequila while in the studio and poured shots for the entire panel. Rodriguez playfully went along with the bit but Jeter seemed to hate every second of it.
Rodriguez and Kevin Burkhardt both drank the alcohol as Ortiz handed out shot glasses and celebratory cigars to kick off New
York's offseason beginning.
Jeter refused, however, noting that tequila is not something that the athlete would ever put in his body.
It's always fun to see the banter between these former MLB rivals, but Ortiz put on a particularly big troll job following the three-game sweep against Tampa Bay.
