After a fantastic NFL Week 1 slate on Sunday featuring the Chicago Bears' 59-point outburst and Josh Allen rescuing the Buffalo Bills in Houston, among other things, we still ... have dessert, dearest readers.
On Monday night, we get to see the return of Patrick Mahomes after his ACL tear as he and the Kansas City Chiefs square off with the AFC West rival Denver Broncos, a team many believe to be the most complete in the AFC. Not many are sure what to make of this version of the Chiefs, who seem to be in transition as they try to construct a new Super Bowl window. But one thing's for sure: It's usually very hard to count out Mahomes, no matter the opposition.
When it comes to this matchup's presentation, it is ESPN's first Monday night game of
the 2026 season. That means we will hear play-by-play commentator Joe Buck on the call. He will, of course, be accompanied by his long-time broadcast partner and color commentator, Troy Aikman.
It should be an electric affair in Kansas City. Here's hoping we get a good one!
