Sports fans love to debate and dissect in-arena food options. While most options are the standard fare of pizzas, sandwiches and chicken, there have been so many unique — and questionable — food items introduced over the years that it's been turned into a popular online comparison game.
For 2026, we can add the New York Islanders to that list of teams spicing up their food menu with one of the most bizarre options we've seen to date. Ahead of the Islanders season opener in a week, the team announced a new slate of concession options at their home arena, from loaded mac and cheese to chicken and waffles. Headlining the list, however, is a grilled cheese sandwich filled with ... Nerds Gummy Clusters.
Yes, seriously. The grilled cheese sandwich combines
brie cheese and the popular sugary candy on sourdough bread. UBS Arena posted a picture of the sandwich on social media and it is certainly something to behold.

While I can understand the argument that brie cheese goes well with sweet toppings, the Nerds Gummy Clusters are a step too far. Even if the candy melts, the result will likely be a sensory nightmare. Even looking at the picture could make one's stomach curdle.
Power to you if you try the Islanders new Nerds Gummy Cluster grilled cheese, but even fans are a bit skeptical about this combination.
