Bill Belichick returning to the NFL has always been on the table for the legendary coach, even if the odds are diminishing every season that he's away from the pros.
When asked if he sees himself heading back to the NFL at some point ahead of North Carolina's Dublin game against TCU on Saturday, Belichick kept his focus on the Tar Heels.
"I'm focused on UNC right now, absolutely," Belichick said when asked by a reporter on Thursday. "I've recruited these kids. [I've spent] two years with them. [I've] been with these guys. I want to help them, and I had a great experience in the NFL, but I'm very happy at North Carolina. I'm excited to be there; excited about the future of our program."
It's never completely over for Belichick in the NFL given his
sterling track record with the New England Patriots, but it's probably a long shot at this point for Belichick to return to an NFL sideline.
North Carolina is probably is his last stop as a head coach.
Expectations for Belichick's Tar Heels are not high right now, but perhaps he will surpass them and even earn some NFL attention in the process. You never know.

The team plays TCU in Dublin on Saturday at noon ET on ESPN.
