Kylie Jenner's newly discovered basketball fandom isn't just a casual courtside phase; it's turned into a whole lot more. So much so that Jenner's love of the New York Knicks has actively terrified her closest friends.
During an appearance on the Better Half podcast with Stassie Karanikolaou and Victoria Villarroel, the group pulled back the curtain on Jenner's new passion for the New York Knicks. Villarroel joked that watching a game with Jenner is a wild experience because she gets completely locked in, staring intently throughout the game and "yelling at the TV," admitting with a laugh, "I'm scared of her."
Kylie Jenner admits she's the 'luckiest Knicks fan'
Jenner was asked about her fandom and whether she's always been into sports, and she was brutally honest about her feelings on the Knicks.
"I love that you guys asked me this like you don't know," Jenner said with a laugh. "I never was into it unless it was like someone was married or dating or dating someone and then I would watch. But no, I was never really into it. Sometimes for the finals like I would watch. It wasn't until I went to my first Knicks game that I fell in love."
"There's something about the energy in the stadium and MSG and being there, and it was so much fun. And then I followed them for, you know, those two seasons for them and then to win… I mean, I'm like the luckiest Knicks fan cuz I feel like I am a new Knicks fan, you know, and I got to see them win. So it was really special and so fun."
Karanikolaou backed Jenner's comments by telling a story of Jenner staying up until 7 a.m. during a trip to Sardinia because she had to watch the Knicks game.
"I feel like you're really into it. Like I feel like there's a difference between watching games with your man and being like 'Oh, I love this, like it's so much fun' to you being like, 'I'm staying up until 7:00 a.m. and missing my whole day in Sardinia because I want to see this and I need to see it,'" Karanikolaou said.
It's safe to say that Jenner's fandom and frequent courtside appearances have become much more than just supporting her boyfriend, Timothee Chalamet, a longtime Knicks fan. Jenner has found her own love for the NBA's new champions, and there's no denying that she picked an ideal time to become a "new" Knicks fan, because NBA Finals trips, let alone winning a title, are things that so many fans league-wide will likely never get to see their favorite teams accomplish.
