Already down starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, the Washington Commanders lost backup Marcus Mariota to an injury in Sunday morning's game against the Indianapolis Colts in London.
Mariota suffered the injury on Washington's second drive of the game, which resulted in a field goal to put the Commanders up 6-0 in the first quarter. He was sacked on third-and-goal from the 5-yard line, suffering a knee injury that left him questionable to return.
Athan Kaliakmanis, a seventh-round pick from Rutgers, replaced Mariota, who was starting his second straight game in place of Daniels after beating the Seahawks last week. Daniels was a limited participant in practice this week as he works towards returning soon.
