Most fantasy football leagues typically have one owner who's going to throw a curveball in the first round, but that typically doesn't happen with the No. 1 overall pick. Until the one time that it actually does. When things kicked off in one fantasy football league, the owner of the top overall pick decided there was no better time than, well, immediately, to start the chaos.
With the top names in the NFL and the highest projected fantasy football options for the 2026-27 NFL season all on the board, this owner decided to kick things off with the player USA Today Fantasy has listed as the No. 5 overall running back (not player, just running back) and No. 10 overall player—Las Vegas Raiders' Ashton Jeanty.
The chaos that ensued after is probably
what you might expect.
This guy drafted Ashton Jeanty first overall and the whole league started crashing out 😭

Just to add to the reactions following the pick, USA Today lists Jeanty in the third tier of running backs. Yahoo Sports highlights that the average ADP (average draft position) for Jeanty is at 14.1, meaning he's typically coming off the board around the early/middle of the second round in most drafts.
Welcome to the 2026 fantasy football season. It's going to be a fun ride.
