South Carolina football is not in a great place right now. Not having superstar defensive end Dylan Stewart for the foreseeable future because of an in-house suspension makes it that much worse.
After Stewart threw a punch at an Alabama player and seemingly had a negative encounter with coach Shane Beamer
during the game on Saturday, he's not eligible to play until South Carolina allows him back on the field.2026 Heisman Trophy odds tracker, Week 5: Non-QB surges to top of the board
When asked in Tuesday media availability about what will determine when or if Stewart will return to the team, Beamer gave a pretty blunt answer. "Me," he quickly retorted, per 247 Sports' Brad Crawford.
Welp. If you're a Gamecocks fan hoping to see Stewart back sooner
than later, you'll have to hope Beamer thinks he's earned his place back on the roster. If not, he may be out for a while. Yeesh.
on a follow up a few questions later, Beamer said Stewart's still suspended from the program and he has not made the call on his future yet.

We'll see when (or even if) Beamer has a change of heart... or if Stewart's days with South Carolina are already over.
