The New York Giants offense has plenty on its plate following the season-ending injury to quarterback Jaxson Dart
, but that hasn't stopped questions about one of the team's most popular players. While wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. may not be at the same level of dominance fans remember from his initial five-year run in New York, the 33-year-old obviously impressed enough to make the team's 53-man roster.But over the first two weeks of the 2026 NFL season, Beckham has been virtually non-existent, to no fault of his own. Across two games, Beckham has 14 total offensive snaps, playing 16% of the plays in Week 1 and 5% in Week 2. Matt Nagy insists that's not the case.
While speaking with reporters on Thursday, Nagy stated that Beckham is not "just a backup."
"Odell does a lot of good things... We're trying to probably slowly package him in some things offensively," Nagy said. "So it's not that he's just a backup; there are some times in whatever it is — personnel-wise, we have it on the game plan; we just didn't get to it. Or, you gotta be ready; you're one injury away from being in all the time. And he knows that, he understands that."
