If you have New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson on your fantasy team and just realized he's out for Wednesday night's season opener against the hosting Seattle Seahawks, don't worry.
We've got you covered with a few alternative options who may be available on as a free agent to add to your team as Henderson heads to the bench for a night as he deals with an ankle injury.
If running back Rhamondre Stevenson is somehow available in your league, go get him now. He will most likely take the bulk of reps. However, second-year running back Corey Kiner may get some run as Henderson's fll-in backup. We're guessing Kiner will still be available in your leagues as a free agent; he might be a smart add for a week.
For the Seahawks, at least
check to see if running back Jadarian Price is available as a free agent. If he is, go get him now and look smart in front of all your friends later. If he's taken, look at Seahawks running back George Holani as a possible fill-in option at the last minute. He's Price's backup, but he may get some snaps.
Worst-case scenario, move up one of your flex running backs and put a Patriots wide receiver like DeMario Douglas, Kyle Williams and Mack Hollins in for a night in a flex spot to see how they do... if they're available as free agents, that is. For the Seahawks, keep an eye on wideout Tory Horton, who may be available and has big-play ability.
If all else fails?
Put Henderson on the bench and re-arrange things elsewhere for the Thursday game and Sunday slate until he's back.
