Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf has spent one season with noted conspiracy theorist Aaron Rodgers, and it already has him questioning Antarctica.
Long gone are the days of people feeling any shame in broadcasting nonsense. So, in an interview with The Athletic
, Metcalf told reporter Jonathan Jones that he's big into conspiracy theories. And he proudly offered up an example that made little sense.According to the Steelers wide receiver, Antarctica is a different world. "There is another civilization inside of Earth," he went on to say.
When asked to elaborate, Metcalf incorrectly claimed that there's a reason why people cannot visit Antarctica. Via The Athletic:
“You can go to Alaska. You could go to the North Pole,” Metcalf said. “But why not
Antarctica? Why can’t you just book a trip to Antarctica?”
While Antarctica is generally home to research installations and not actual communities, you can absolutely just book a trip to Antarctica. The very act of crossing the Drake Passage en route to Antarctica is one of the more viral adventure travel activities.
