Chicago Bears defensive tackle Gervon Dexter Sr. could be the next NFL player on the move.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported that the Bears have held trade discussions surrounding Dexter, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract.
A 2023 second-round selection out of Florida, Dexter has registered 115 tackles, 13.5 sacks and four recovered fumbles throughout three seasons. He started all 17 games last season for the Bears, as Schultz noted.

San Francisco 49ers
49ers assistant Matt Eberflus coached the Bears when Dexter was drafted, so there could be some interest in the Bay to reunite him with his first NFL coach. Dexter could give San Fran some really nice depth along the defensive line for new defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, whose scheme wouldn't impede Dexter's skillset.
Atlanta Falcons
Former Bears assistant genreal manager Ian Cunningham worked for Chicago when Dexter was drafted, so there might be some familiarity there that intrigues Atlanta. Plus, Falcons president of football Matt Ryan and Bears general manager Ryan Poles are good friends (as are Cunningham and Poles, of course), so perhaps a friendly trade could come together to give the Falcons more depth (or even a starter) along the defensive line.
Plus, former Florida Gators co-defensive coordinator Patrick Toney now coaches with the Falcons as a defensive passing game coordinator, if you're looking for another Atlanta connection.
Tennessee Titans
Former Bears linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi is with Tennessee, so he and Dexter would have crossed paths in the Windy City. The Titans could use some additional pop on the defensive line; perhaps Dexter could help?
New York Giants
As John Harbaugh builds up his new defense in the Big Apple, perhaps Dexter could join the defensive line rotation. New York rosters a former Bears defensive lineman in Zacch Pickens and signed former Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds as a free agent, so perhaps the Giants are interested in recent Bears defensive players? Dexter could fit the bill.
Philadelphia Eagles
Dexter feels like the exact kind of player Philly general manager Howie Roseman loves to buy low on and cash in once he excels in the Eagles defense. Adding Dexter as a depth option could be a really smart move for Philly.
