The New York Giants are actually at the top of a very mediocre NFC East at 3-2-1, but with some issues at running back as Cam Skattebo has been put in the dog house. The Indianapolis Colts are at 2-4 and just fired their general manager. Trade rumors have begun to swirl.
Might that mean the Giants could swing a deal for running back Jonathan Taylor, who is still playing well and who could fetch a pretty good return?
There has been speculation about that (plus some fake social media posts that have fooled some fans). Frankly, it makes some sense. If the Giants think they can win the division and return next year with a healthier team that would have Jaxson Dart under center and Brian Burns rushing passers again, then maybe a deal for Taylor would make some sense.
For now, it feels like it's just in the speculative phase, but we'll see if there's more fire behind the smoke we're starting to see.
