The rumbles about a Tyreek Hill comeback have turned into serious reports of the speedy veteran wideout returning to an NFL team: The Kansas City Chiefs, reuniting him with the team with which he won a Super Bowl. It's also timely given the struggles the Chiefs now have with wide receiver health with Tyquan Thornton and Rashee Rice suffering injuries on Sunday.
Last week, it was a different story on the waiver wire when it came to Hill. With Week 5 looming, we have to ask: Is he worth a pickup off the waiver wire? My short answer: It's complicated.
We're starting the bye weeks in the NFL and fantasy, which means your bench spots become more valuable. If you're in a league where there are limited spots, you might not have the room to stash a player
who -- as it's been reported -- may not come back until November. And when he does return, there are questions about his health. He's coming back from a devastating knee injury the last we saw him in 2025. For a player who relies on his game-breaking speed, will he still have that burst when he's back on the field?
There are enough questions there to give you pause.
Is Tyreek Hill worth a fantasy football waiver wire pickup?
Ultimately, if you have the room to burn a roster spot in a deep fantasy league and he's available? Sure. The Chiefs do need the help at receiver and they're of course familiar with Hill. So he can work his way into the offense quickly with Patrick Mahomes and be a factor down the stretch. But if you're riddled with injuries or have enough bye weeks coming up where you'll need to stock up, picking up Hill may not be a luxury you can afford right now.
