It's Taco Tuesday, but it's a special one: National Taco Day 2026 is on Tuesday, Oct. 6, and that means one thing: Let's celebrate the dish we all love to eat.
Why is Oct. 6 National Taco Day? Good question. I don't have an answer, but I do know that the day falls on the first Tuesday in October in order to line it up with Taco Tuesday.
What I do know is that some joints are giving away tacos or giving consumers some discounts as we celebrate the dish. And we're here to inform you about that. So here are some chains where you can get discounts or free tacos:
Taco Bell
Use Uber Eats or Grubhub to get a free crunchy or soft seasoned beef taco. You just have to spend $22 or more.
Moe's Southwest Grill
You can get up to three tacos at $2 per.
Chuy's
You can get a free entree if you dress
in a taco outfit -- just post the photo on social media with #ChuysTacoDay.
Del Taco
Buy something there, get a free taco!
Taco John's
If you're a Rewards member, you can get a free beef crispy taco on your next trip there if you buy something on Tuesday.
Jack in the Box
Spend at least $1 in the app and get two free tacos.
Baja Fresh
You can go there and get three chicken street tacos for $6.
