Some bad news for the Minnesota Vikings and running back Jordan Mason: He's going on short-term IR with a thumb fracture. So if you're a fantasy football manager, who should you pick up to replace him?
The immediate answer is that Aaron Jones will pick up the slack and get more work -- he had 12 carries to Mason's 15 last week. But he's mostly rostered, so who's next?
Per reports, DeeJay Dallas will be in the mix, but I'm here to talk about Demond Claiborne, the rookie who was inactive for Week 1 after the franchise selected him in the sixth round of April's 2026 NFL Draft. I've added him in a few leagues with speculation that he might get more work, but those are deep leagues and you have to wonder if he'll be active to begin with. In dynasty
leagues, he could be an intriguing long-term player.
I'm NOT picking up Dallas, though. The answer here is that Jones will be on the fringes of RB2 value, but if the longtime vet can't stay healthy? Claiborne could be activated and active.
