Sid Wilson's time with Slipknot has reportedly come to an end after nearly 30 years with the nu metal band. The 49-year-old DJ and keyboardist has been permanently kicked out of the band, according to TMZ, leaving only four original members.
TMZ did not share a reason for Wilson's apparent departure. This comes roughly five months after he and Kelly Osbourne, the 41-year-old daughter of the late Ozzy Osbourne, called off their engagement.
Percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, guitarist Mick Thomson, singer Corey Taylor and guitarist Jim Root are the lone original members remaining in Slipknot, should Wilson indeed be out. They haven't released an album since 2022's The End, So Far, but their eighth is in the works with a release date undetermined.
With rumors swirling around Wilson, Root seemingly tried to clear the air on his Instagram Stories.
"Don’t believe every thing you read," Root wrote. "Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information."
It's unclear if Root was referring to Wilson, but context sure points that way. We'll likely hear more concrete information on Wilson's status over the next few days.
