Caitlin Clark's stellar start to her WNBA career remains a topic of conversation among fans, and she'll obviously be with the Indiana Fever for at least the next year, if not two. However, there will likely be an offseason in the near future with a free-agent class that includes Clark. And when that does happen? It'll be a chaotic, wild stretch.
While there's been no indication that Clark prefers to stay with the Fever or instead test the waters, the idea of her becoming a free agent would entice every team. So, it wasn't surprising that, during her recent conversation on Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, Kelce pitched Clark on joining Philadelphia's WNBA expansion team down the road.
Even more interestingly, Clark's response to the idea likely
raised a few eyebrows among Philly sports fans. Kelce began her pitch to Clark by saying, "Wouldn't it be fun to come to Philadelphia?" She and Clark had some fun back-and-forth, with the WNBA star admitting she's only been to Philly once, for a doctor's appointment and, of course, a cheesesteak.
"So, I mean, let me come experience the city first. You can sell it to me. You can come with me," Clark responded to Kelce's pitch.
Clark also praised Philly sports fans, pointing to several sports and noting how badly they want to see their teams succeed.

“I’ve never spent much time in Philadelphia. I’ve only been there one time & it was for a doctors appointment…and then I got a cheese steak & I left” 😂

"The thing about Philadelphia sports is, I love how passionate the fans are," Clark said. "They're crazy, but I think it's awesome. Like, Phillies fans, and Eagles fans, Sixers fans, they all seem kind of nuts, but I love it. I love that fandom. They want to win just as much as the players do. Possibly more, honestly."
It's worth noting that the timing could be interesting to watch, as Clark is under contract in 2027 and a restricted free agent in 2028. However, Philadelphia's WNBA franchise won't form until 2030, which could make the timelines hard to align.
