The last time we saw Tyrese Haliburton in a meaningful game was one of the most gut-wrenching moments in NBA history. With his Indiana Pacers deadlocked in a heated NBA Finals Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Haliburton tore his Achilles in heartbreaking fashion. The Pacers' superstar would miss the entire 2025-2026 campaign as he recovered, with scary setbacks along the way.
At Pacers media day on Monday, Haliburton cleared the air about all uncertainty concerning his near future on the court. He is healthy for a new season. He is ready to play. And he definitely wanted to talk about anything else regarding himself, the Pacers, and otherwise because he understands his health status will be a big elephant in the room for Indiana moving
forward:
"I'm healthy, Iām 100%... I am ready to go for the year."

As Haliburton joked, we need not question his health update here because he is literally the source. This personal "report" about him being 100 percent is coming straight from the horse's mouth. Anything anyone else hears or reads that is contradictory to Haliburton's sentiments here should probably be taken a lot less seriously.
Take solace, Pacers fans. Your team can finally go on the redemption tour you've been waiting for for over a year now. It might take some time for Haliburton to get back into his most impactful groove as he knocks off rust. But at least he'll be knocking that rust off on the court in meaningful games.
One of the NBA's best players is finally back.
When is the Pacers' 2026 season opener?
The Pacers will open their season on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans on Wednesday, October 21st.
