Cleveland Browns tight end Dae'Quan Wright is on the verge of making NFL history... in the most bizarre way possible.
Wright, an undrafted free agent out of Ole Miss, was officially waived by Cleveland on Monday. If he clears waivers, he will most likely join... LSU, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Yes, he will return to college for 2026. Wait, what?!
Indeed, a recent Louisiana court decision allowed Wright and a handful of other NCAA athletes to return to college for a fifth year of eligibility.
Wright and his former Ole Miss teammate, defensive lineman Zxavian Harris, were among the first seven players to hit the transfer portal on Saturday after the decision was made. Harris spent time this offseason with the New Orleans Saints. Now, he and Wright will
get a chance to head back to college after time with an NFL team.
Browns coach Todd Monken sounded as shocked as we were at the news.

What a strange development. Wright will now join his former Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin in Baton Rouge after spending the summer with Cleveland in NFL training camp.
Could the NCAA appeal the Louisiana ruling?
