Ben Shelton took down reigning US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz in a marathon of a match that concluded at 3:33 a.m. ET. Perhaps it led to Shelton making an omission in his post-match interview that's since gone viral.
The 23-year-old American said he hoped his best friend and sister didn't have to work at 6 a.m. after staying up all night to watch his match. Then the broadcast immediately cut to his girlfriend, soccer star Trinity Rodman, putting her hands up in confusion while saying, "What about me?" It was a much-needed moment of comedy after a lengthy, intense match.

How long have Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman been dating?
Shelton and Rodman officially began dating in March 2025 with Rodman attending one of Shelton's matches for the first time that April. Rodman, the daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman, has since been a fixture at Shelton's matches, even wearing a "I ❤️my boyfriend" shirt earlier in the US Open.
