Fresh off of winning a ring earlier this year with the New York Knicks and becoming the city's most beloved athlete at the moment, Jalen Brunson gets to add another big line to his resume: Saturday Night Live host.
The guard -- who will be joined by Katseye -- will join a long line of athletes who hosted the comedy show, and that got us thinking: Who are the GOATs of the GOAT athletes who hosted SNL? And can Brunson break into this list this weekend?
We'll answer the former query for you. Here are the seven greatest athlete SNL hosts of all time:
8. Tom Brady
You could tell he was having fun, which goes a long way.
7. Wayne Gretzky
Not exactly the most dynamic of the athlete hosts, but the Great One was better than you think.
6. Derek Jeter
I think he surprised everyone with his on-stage abilities.
See above.
5. Michael Jordan
His Airness may be the greatest NBA player of all time, but he's not the GOAT of SNL athlete hosts, although his Stuart Smalley sketch was gold and his Bill Swerski Super Fans dance was a delight.
4. LeBron James
He bought in and was really funny, setting himself up for a Space Jam: A New Legacy starring role.
3. Charles Barkley
Funny in real life translated to funny on screen. He's hosted three times and has been terrific in every single stint.
2. Eli Manning
Of course the prankster known for his humor deserves to be on this list. His 2012 episode was so good all the way through.
1. Peyton Manning
In another life, he could have been a sketch performer. Between his mock United Way ad and the dance he did in the locker room, he's the best of the best.
