It has been an incredibly rough few days for NFL quarterbacks. In Week 2, multiple starting quarterbacks went down with injuries across the NFC, from Jaxson Dart to Jayden Daniels. Luckily for Chicago Bears fans, while Caleb Williams went down with a non-contact injury and fans feared the worst, it seems as if it's not as bad as it could have been with the diagnosis looking to be a Grade 1 hamstring strain

Williams is still likely to be out at least a week or two, so the Bears were set to turn to former undrafted free agent Tyson Bagent until their starter could return. But on Tuesday, NFL insider Ian Rapoport delivered the shocking news that Bagent is dealing with a concussion and will be placed in the league's concussion protocol, leaving

him unavailable to start in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

So, with Williams and Bagent likely both out in Week 3, who is the Bears' third quarterback on their depth chart? That is none other than 38-year-old NFL journeyman Case Keenum. Keenum last played in the NFL in 2023 for the Houston Texans as a backup, where he started in two games before joining the Bears in April 2025. In his 11-year NFL career, Keenum has played in 80 games, thrown 79 touchdowns and has a 62.3 completion percentage.

While it's definitely not the news Bears fans were hoping to see, at least Williams seems to be on track to return not too long from now.

How did Tyson Bagent get injured for the Bears?

While it's still unknown what exactly happened with Bagent, the quarterback did take a hard sack from Minnesota Vikings defender Dallas Turner on the last play of Sunday's game.
