Damian Lillard has been putting on an unreal display of shooting this offseason as he prepares to return to action for the first time since tearing his Achilles in the 2025 NBA playoffs. And at least one of his NBA peers expects Lillard's volume of shot-making to pay dividends in the regular season.
In response to a video Lillard posted to his Instagram story showing he made 1,100 of 1,130 three-pointers (94 percent!!!) on a shot tracker, Draymond Green said he's never seen anything like that. Which says a lot coming from someone who played with two of the greatest shooters ever, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.
Green, then, issued a warning to the rest of the league:
"For a period of time, all he could do was shoot, being the marksman that he already
was," Green said on his podcast. "Man! He's gonna have to get his legs under him, for sure, in coming back. But when he do, I don't think the league is ready to see the type of shooting display that Dame 'bout to put on when he get back."
Believe it or not, Lillard's 1,100 threes in one session might only be the second most-impressive thing he accomplished this summer next to hitting the 100,000-threes milestone.
The Portland Trail Blazers posted a video detailing how Lillard set a goal to hit 100,000 threes, which is just short of all the threes made in the entire NBA last season. And not only did he get there, he did it while shooting between 80-85 percent, according to team analytics coach Jacob Mooallem.
