The Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears meet Monday night with the Bears quarterback situation the biggest talking point in the lead up to the game.
We’ve known all week Caleb Williams wouldn’t play after injuring his hamstring. On Sunday, we learned backup Tyson Bagent isn’t starting either, even after clearing the concussion protocol. The Bears are leaving things to 38-year-old Case Keenum.
This matters a great deal when making touchdown picks. If the situation in Atlanta the first two weeks of the season taught us anything, it's that a third-string quarterback can tank an entire offense. With that in mind, I'm fading all Bears. These are my favorite touchdown picks for tonight's game.
Devonta Smith (+180)
The connection between Smith and Jalen Hurts looked phenomenal
in their Week 2 win over the Titans, with the two connecting 10 times for 117 yards and a touchdown. The Bears are a good matchup for them to build on that game after allowing 361 yards and three touchdowns to Bryce Young and the Panthers in Week 1.
Tank Bigsby (+480)
Saquon Barkley (-115) has top odds to score in this game, but he's been held without a touchdown through two games and I question what type of workload he'll receive this week coming off a stinger injury. To preserve his health for a long season, those tough goal-line carries could end up going to Bigsby or even Jalen Hurts.
Jalen Hurts (+145)
Continuing what I said about Barkley's injury, it wouldn't surprise me to see Hurts get the ball on a few more designed runs that usual. But even if that's not the case, he's due for a tush push touchdown or RPO keeper in the red area. His rushing touchdown drought is up to eight games, including Philadelphia's playoff loss to the 49ers, easily the longest of his career since becoming a starter.
