Dan Orlovsky played in the NFL. He gets paid to analyze football. Statistics are undeniably something he's been familiar with for his entire sports career, and that should include percentages.
Apparently, Orlovsky has gone all this time without knowing what a percent even is. How he made it 43 years without figuring it out? You'll have to ask him. And why he would admit that on live television — that's an even tougher question.
The topic came up during Monday's edition of the Pat McAfee Show (the same episode where McAfee had a tantrum about a Utah social video that mocked him). And while discussing Joe Burrow's sack rate of four percent, Orlovsky came to the realization that a percent is always out of 100.
He had no idea!
There's no way @danorlovsky7

It's embarrassing enough to be someone who has looked at basic metrics like completion percentage without realizing what that's even measuring. But Orlovsky really just broadcasted that to an entire viewing audience.
Just wow. The man has a vote in NFL awards.
As expected, the comments drew plenty of reaction on social media.

NFL Awards are voted on by someone who doesn't know what percent means. I'm genuinely fascinated by this. What did you think completing 58.2% of your passes meant @danorlovsky7? How does one graduate from UConn without knowing this? pic.twitter.com/rfO9UvaYcY
