The second Odell Beckham Jr. stint with the New York Giants has officially come to a close. After rejoining the team that drafted him No. 12 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Beckham made the 53-man roster but was used sparingly through the first three games. Now, they've opted to move on from the longtime fan favorite, leaving his NFL future up in the air.
After the Giants' decision to part ways with Beckham, John Harbaugh addressed the move, pointing the finger back at the team while admitting they couldn't get him on the field enough.
"Had a great conversation with Odell, and it's tough, but we just weren't getting enough," Harbaugh said. "It just wasn't working for us. And like I told him, I wanted to be able to get more. I wanted him to be able to do
more. I wanted to get him on the field more. We just, for whatever reason, we weren't able to do it; put it on us. We weren't able to get it done. But at this point in time, that's kinda where we were and we needed to move on."
The move came less than a week after offensive coordinator Matt Nagy vowed that Beckham wasn't just a backup, despite his low snap count.
